سأكتب لكم اليوم عن حق من حقوق المريض، ألا وهو طلب الرأي الطبي الثاني

Medical Second Opinion

تعتبر خدمة الرأي الطبي الثاني من الخدمات الرائعة والجليلة التي تقدمها العديد من المستشفيات  وتنقسم هذه الخدمة إلى قسمين: رأي طبي محلي و رأي طبي عالمي

وقد أقرت لائحة حقوق المرضى حق المريض بطلب رأي طبي ثاني إن احتاج لذلك، إلا أن بعض الأطباء يتوجسون من هذه الخدمة للأسباب التالي: وهذا على سبيل المثال لا الحصر

الحالة واضحة ولا تحتاج إلى طلب رأي طبي ثاني.

توحي بعدم ثقة الطبيب بنفسه وتشخيصه.

استخدام المريض طلب الرأي الطبي الثاني لطلب علاج في الخارج.

استخدام الرأي الطبي الثاني وسيلة للشكوى

 ولكن أعتقد أن العكس صحيح، فلطلب الرأي الطبي الثاني فوائد جمة، فمنها

تكسب الطبيب المعالج ثقة بنفسه وتشخيصه

تكسب الطبيب معرفة جديدة

تريح المريض ويقبل بقرار طبيبه المعالج

تعجل بخروج المريض في حالة انتهاء علاجة

 و يكمن التناقض في أن بعض الأطباء يمتنع عن طلب أو تقديم رأي طبي ثاني لعموم المرضى ، بينما تتغير رؤيته  في حال كون المريض أحد أقربائه أو معارفه أو أحد الشخصيات المهمة VIP  فيبادر سريعا بطلب الرأي الطبي الثاني ومتابعته متابعة حثيثة

الطب ليس علما قطعياً ويتجدد دائما، والفهم والإدرك يختلف من طبيب لآخر، وكذلك الإمكانيات الفنية والإدارية

 يقول الله سبحانه وتعالي (... وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ) فالعلم درجات وكذلك الفهم والاستنتاج

 وكذلك أمر الله سبحانه وتعالى نبيّه بمشاورة أصحابه مع استغنائه عن آرائهم ، فقد تكفّل الله بإرشاده وتوجيهه ، ولكنّه توجيه للأمة بضرورة العمل بهذا المبدأ ، قال تعالى : { وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الأَمْرِ  }   آل عمران : 159

 كما أمرنا رسولنا الكريم ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ  بالاستخارة في جميع الأمور، عن جابر رضي الله عنه: كان رسول الله ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يعلمنا الاستخارة في الأمور كلها... الحديث رواه البخاري

 تصور أخي الطبيب أن لك ابن قد غرق وتلف دماغه، أو أن الأكلة أصابت قدمه وقرر الأطباء فصل أجهزة التنفس عنه أو بتر قدمه، فكيف سيكون حالك وحال اسرتك؟

 فقد أثبتت تجربتي الطويلة في هذا المجال أن الرأي الطبي الثاني من أنجع الوسائل التي تدعم قرار الأطباء وتعين أهل المريض على تقبل الأمر، فكن رحيماً حكيماً حليماً بمريضك وأسرته، فهم يضعون آمالهم وثقتهم بك بعد الله

 وأخيراً أقول "أن لكل مريض حق طلب راي طبي ثاني

 

Dear Doctor, be merciful, wise and meek

Today, I will write about one of the most important patient's rights, which is requesting medical second opinion.

The medical second opinion is considered to be one of the most important and excellent services provided by many medical institutions.

It is divided into two types: National and International medical second opinions.  The medical second opinion is a right granted to patients, but some physicians are annoyed or fear to provide this service for the following reasons :( for example but not limited to)

1. The case is very clear and doesn't need a medical second opinion.

2. The physician doesn't have trust in his diagnosis.

3. The patient might use the medical second opinion to seek treatment abroad.

4. The patient might use the medical second opinion to support his complaint against him.

On contrary, I think the opposite is right. The medical second opinion has many advantages:

1. It gives confidence for the physician.

2. The physician will gain more knowledge.

3. Relieve the patient and accept the decision of his doctor.

4. Enhance the patients' discharge process.

 However, the contradictory is that some physicians do not give medical second opinion or request it for ordinary patients, but his vision change if this patient is one of his relatives or a VIP. Ironically, he will start to seek and coordinate the medical second opinion.

 Medicine is not segmental science, the understanding of one physician to another is different, the technologies and administrative capabilities differ from one place to another.

Allah the almighty says “over every knowledgeable person is One who knows". Surat Yousif,” The Prophet Mohammad peace upon him consulted his companions, and ordered them to seek for gaudiness "estekhara".

 Dear doctor, imagine that your son had drowned and diagnosed with a brain damaged, or his foot diagnosed with osteoclasts and decided to amputate his foot.  How are you will be and what is the feelings of your family?

 My long vast experience in this field has shown that the medical second opinion is the most effective means of supporting and helping the patient or his family to take decision and accepts the medical situation.

 Finally I say "that every patient has the right to seek a medical second opinion ..."
